Hello friends, I’ve started this interview series to share the pro bloggers’ journey. It will help new bloggers to learn from pro bloggers.

Our today’s guest is Tushar Dey, he is a blogger, influencer, and founder of MakeSuccessOnline.

In this interview, Tushar is going to share his blogging hacks. I hope it will help you to make your blog successful.

Please Introduce Yourself to DigiTechTrends Readers?

First of all, thank you Saurabh for having me on your interview series.

Hi guys, my name is Tushar Dey and I’m a digital marketer and blogger. I run the blog called MakeSuccessOnline along with some affiliates sites. I’ve also worked with many brands and helped them with their digital marketing efforts.

How did you enter into blogging?

I was desperately looking for ways to make money online. I tried many different ways like creating apps, YouTube channels, and freelancing but all of them didn’t work for me. There was a time I thought making money online is complete bullshit.

But then I watched a video on YouTube about blogging and I found it very interesting.

I started exploring and learning more about blogging and then after a few months, I started my first ever blog.

I had almost ZERO practical knowledge about blogging at that time. I didn’t have any knowledge about content writing, SEO, and social media marketing.

All I knew was, I want to start a blog.

Because of my lack of knowledge that the blog failed miserably.

After that, I almost started 4 different blogs on different niches but all of them failed at some point.

Then I started makesuccessonline, but this time I made it.

It completely changed my life.

This blog doesn’t just helped me in my blogging career but it also helped me to become a better digital marketer.

Before You Started Blogging, What Were You Doing As a Professional?

I was studying, and I was also doing a job as an accountant.

Around 2 years back, I left that job and started doing blogging and digital marketing full time.

What Were The Mistakes You Made In Your Initial Days? Which You Would Suggest Newcomers Shouldn’t Do?

I think one of the biggest mistakes I made in my blogging career was choosing the wrong niche.

In my initial days, I choose niches based on business value and competition. But I haven’t thought about my interest. And that mistake totally ruined my blogs.

So my biggest advice to any newcomers would be:

Choose a niche that has business value and your interest.

Don’t think about the competition because the competition is everywhere. You’re not going to get anything in life without competing.

Which social media platform you prefer most and why?

I prefer Linkedin and Facebook.

Linkedin is still an untapped platform. Everyone knows about it, but no one use it.

The reason is, for most people LinkedIn is a boring platform compare to Instagram and Facebook.

But the truth is:

LinkedIn is a hidden gem.

Let me tell you an interesting fact about LinkedIn:

Over 80% of all social media B2B leads come from LinkedIn.

Instagram might seem fancy, but the business value and reach you’ll get on LinkedIn is way better than Instagram.

For Facebook, I mostly prefer Facebook groups because you can build a powerful tribe or audience base with that and you can also engage with like-minded people.

What Is The Importance Of Networking In Blogging? How Do You Do That?

It’s not just about blogging, networking is important in every aspect of our life.

There’s also a famous quote about it:

“Your network is your net worth.”

It’s true if you want to grow your income, gain more clients, or want more exposure then your network is going to help you so much.

I personally like to network with fellow bloggers using social media and email.

I’m blessed that today I have a good amount of network in the blogging field, and no doubt they are one of the reasons behind my blog’s success.

What Was The Most Challenging Moment in Your Blogging Journey So Far?

The first few months were very challenging since I was not making any money at that period of time but I was investing heavily in tools from my savings.

How Much Time Do You Work on Your Blog on Daily Basis?

I honestly don’t measure it. I work around 10 – 12 hours a day that includes all my blog, personal branding, business, and client-related tasks.

How Do You Get The Idea To Write on Your Blog? Which Are Your Favorite Blogging Tools And Why?

The majority of my earning comes from services and then affiliate marketing and brand partnership.

What Are Your Blogging Plans for the Future?

I going to scale up makesuccessonline to the next level and going to build a loyal audience base.

Blogging vs. Vlogging. Which One is Better and Why?

Both are good. It all depends on what you like. If someone enjoys writing then blogging is good for them and if someone likes to face the camera then vlogging is good for them.

What Are Your Favorite Books, You Can Recommend for Bloggers?

Cashvertising and Storybrand are the two books that I would recommend to every blogger.

What Suggestions Do You Give For Our Readers And New Bloggers Who Are Thinking About To Start Blogging As A Career?

I would like to give a very important suggestion to your readers.

Before starting your blogging career make sure you have patience because blogging is not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

You have to keep patience if you want to become a successful blogger. Most of the people fail in blogging because they don’t have patience and they give up after some time.

So always remember, patience is the key to success in blogging.
